The Nashik, India National Space Society chapter, only two years old, has organized an entire week of events on the Space Week theme “Space Unites the World” in association with a 104-year-old educational institute, Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, Nashik. The sessions will provide an opportunity for a thousand students to interact on site with eminent scientists and engineers from ISRO (India’s version of NASA) and also virtually with NSS leaders and others speaking about their research and development achievements, current and future programs, and educational career opportunities.

The major NSS chapters’ event is a 2-hour virtual Chapters Assembly starting at 7:00 AM Pacific Time on Saturday, October 6th, and one, two or three hours later in the Mountain, Central, and Eastern zones respectively. This event is billed as “Online Panel Discussion of Space Experts and NSS Worldwide Chapter Presidents.” One hour before this event, Sacramento NSS Chapter President Joseph Bland will be speaking on “Settling Space: A Practical Approach.”

Nashik‘s Space Week event will be running daily from 1:30 AM to 8 AM Pacific (4:30 AM to 11 AM Eastern) through October 10.

To watch all or part of this colorful week LIVE, go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xyc2lFE-oo. Those with a Google ID can click on the Subscribe button below the picture to receive email notices when each program session starts. There is a PDF schedule of events here in India time (subtract 12.5 hours to get Pacific time).

  1. Congratulations to NASHIK for this major achievement! How many students will be inspired to and empowered to go on to careers and make a difference in the exploration and settlement of space?! Thank you for sharing your experience on YouTube so those of us across the globe could participate.
