Launching Our Future:

The National Space Society is launching a bold new era, one designed by members, for members.

We heard you. From board insights to member feedback and association benchmarking, the message is clear: our members, especially younger space professionals, want more than a newsletter or annual conference—they want community and connection, and a way to shape our future of space with others who share their passion.

That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of the Young Professionals Virtual Community, a new member benefit designed to connect early-career space enthusiasts, engineers, communicators, and advocates.

Why This Matters

In every corner of the space community, one challenge persists: how do we keep early-career members engaged? NSS is responding by creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued, not just as attendees, but as co-creators of their experience.

This initiative reflects a shift in how NSS operates from a traditional membership model to one that encourages collaboration, experimentation, and leadership from the ground up.

About the Young Professionals Group

This community is designed for NSS members in their 20s, 30s, or anyone early in their space careers. It’s a space to learn, grow, and connect to NSS resources and industry professionals. Let’s co-create a space where early-career members can thrive.

What to Expect:

  • Monthly 1-hour virtual meetups (via Zoom)
  • Opportunities for networking, collaboration, mentorship, and more
  • A Discovery Session as the first meeting where members will co-design the group’s format and topics
  • Possible rotating discussions, guest speakers, and member-led sessions based on what the group wants

Designed by You, Powered by NSS

This isn’t just another Zoom call—it’s the launchpad for a new kind of NSS experience. By co-creating this group with members, we’re fostering real connection, fresh leadership, and expanded engagement that extends beyond conferences and email blasts.

Stay tuned—registration opens in December! The future of NSS, and your relationship with us, is taking shape, and we’re excited to have you as a part of it!
