The National Space Society urges the rapid selection of a dynamic new NASA administrator to replace Jim Bridenstine. NASA is currently engaged in many important initiatives, including a transition to commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) space stations, Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS), Commercial Crew, and the Artemis commercially sourced Human Lunar Landers. All these programs share the common characteristic that they involve lower costs and faster results through the use of public-private partnerships. The new NASA administrator needs to be capable of working with both industry and Congress to advance these vital programs. The dangers to the planet from solar systems objects that are possible E.L.E. are cause for great concern, however the current space debris is not being addressed by commercial or government (DoD) to the fullest
