“Moon Talk” tells the story of how the Collins Radio Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa developed the communication systems for the Apollo program. This documentary video will be shown in person and via Zoom at the next meeting of the Iowa chapter of the National Space Society on Monday, May 23 at 5:30 p.m. CDT.

In person:
DMACC West Campus
5959 Grand Ave,
West Des Moines, IA

Via Zoom:
see details below

This month, the Chapter will be showing the second in a series of three videos produced by the Arthur A. Collins Legacy Foundation highlighting the early history of the iconic Iowa aerospace firm, Collins Radio (subsequently Rockwell Collins and now Collins Aerospace). They showed the first video, “Steps to the Moon,” in October of last year. Continuing the series by popular demand, in this second video, “Moon Talk”, you will see and hear about the developments and accomplishments of Collins Radio from the early U.S. space program up until the Apollo 8 Moon mission.

Feel free to join us in-person or via Zoom, and be sure to pass this along to any of your fellow space enthusiasts or local history buffs. It’s another excellent documentary video!
