NOTE: Normally, we try to celebrate when the Apollo lander is actually on the lunar surface, but last minute circumstances required us to move the date a week later to August 7th at 7 AM PDT (the day that Apollo 15 landed back on Earth). If you’ve already registered for the previously announced date, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the new date. The link will stay the same as previously distributed. (If you are also interested in an informal “breakfast” together on July 31st to celebrate the actual lunar landing, please contact Joseph Bland at [email protected].)

Please mark your calendars! On Saturday morning, August 7, NSS Chapters’ Assembly and NSS Chapter Sacramento L5 Society will host the fifth in their ongoing series of 50th anniversary celebrations of the manned Apollo missions to the Moon. This time, we’ll be celebrating the Apollo 15 mission.

For the Apollo 15 event, we are tremendously excited to announce that Apollo Mission Control Flight Director Gerald D. Griffin has agreed to return as principal panelist.

He will be joined by author and NSS Director of Communications and Branding Dr. Anthony Paustian. Joseph Bland, president of the Sacramento L5 Society, will be the Zoom host.
