If you don’t already know, August Blitz/Fall Fury is an Alliance for Space Development/National Space Society/Space Frontier Foundation sponsored event which takes place in your home state. Like other congressional visits, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with your Represetative/Senators and their staff. Meetings will be scheduled around your availability. This event is perfect for those who couldn’t make it to the DC events.

Talking points slides will be available soon and will likely focus on support for commercial LEO stations, lunar exploration and commercial development, and planetary defense. Meetings start in August, and this year will continue into the fall (hence, “Fall Fury”) until all key targets have been visited. August Blitz/Fall Fury training slides are at: http://space.nss.org/wp-content/uploads/2018-Home-District-Blitz-Advocacy-Training.pdf.

People from all over the country are invited to join, whether NSS members or not. Feel free to invite co-workers, fellow students, family and anyone passionate about space! We’re especially looking for volunteers in key space states, including:

Key States With At Least 1 Volunteer so far (we need more!):
Florida, California, Colorado, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Arizona

Key States Without a Volunteer (asterisks show more important states):
Alabama*, Louisiana*, Virginia*, Illinois*, Kansas, Alaska*, Utah, Wisconsin*, West Virginia*, Massachusetts, Hawaii, New Mexico, Michigan, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Mississippi, Washington, Tennessee, Maine, South Carolina, Arkansas, Vermont, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland.

If you have any questions prior to signing up, contact NSS policy chair Dale Skran at [email protected] or Tagup Communicator Ian Burrell at [email protected].
