My Vacation in Space

Embark on a vacation where you visit space habitats or worlds. Visualize a journey into the future, where the cosmos has evolved into an incredible work of human ingenuity and creativity. Envision a world where the Moon, Mars, asteroids, orbital space settlements, and space elevators are not just distant dreams, but actual realities.
Imagine yourself as a space tourist …
- visiting historic landmarks on the Moon or Mars where unmanned spacecraft landed years before,
- visiting mining colonies where humans use innovative future technologies,
- climbing to the summit of Olympus Mons on the rust-colored landscape of Mars,
- riding a space elevator to a geostationary space station,
- or just relaxing and enjoying the stars in an orbital outpost.
How did you get to your place in space? What kind of rocket, spacecraft, or launcher took you there? What propulsion technology was used? Solar sails? Space Elevators? Nuclear propulsion? Conventional liquid or solid fuel engines?
This year’s Roadmap to Space Art Contest theme challenges you to channel your creativity into crafting a REALISTIC art piece that captures the essence of methods and modes of space travel while on a space vacation.
Your artwork should not only capture a scene, but provide a glimpse of tomorrow. Let your imagination soar as you create an ORIGINAL authentic and visionary portrayal of a vacation in space. Think about the types of rockets and propulsion that could be used to transport people and materials into and through space.
