“Live in a Healthy Space” Design Contest: Attending ISDC
The NSS International Space Development Conference (ISDC) invites all NSS Live in a Healthy Space Competition entrants to attend the ISDC, where they can network with students from around the world, participate in activities, present a poster, or give an oral presentation.
The 2027 NSS International Space Development Conference will be taking place from May 27-30, 2027, at the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel.

The Live in a Healthy Space Competition participants are encouraged to attend ISDC 2027 (May 27–30, 2027, Los Angeles), which includes a Student Recognition Ceremony and opportunities to present projects. If you’ll need a visa to travel to the U.S., start the process as early as possible, since interview wait times vary widely by country and consulate and in some cases run 8 months or more. In India, for example, current wait times at US Consulates range from roughly 8 to 10+ months. Check your country’s current wait times at travel.state.gov.

Students should follow the instructions on the forthcoming Student Registration Page. When available, please be sure to read through all of the instructions and fill out all the necessary forms. There will be separate forms for ISDC registration, NSS Live in a Healthy Space Competition Registration (same as O’Neill Space Settlement Contest), Request for Visa Invitation Letters for international attendees, and separate applications to participate in the Poster Presentation and/or give an Oral Presentation during one of the technical sessions.
