The magnetic levitation train is a very long asynchronous linear motor intended for transportation of fragile cargo and people. A conductive train is accelerated by a quickly changing magnetic field produced by stationary coils. Power supply requirements are less demanding than those of a short coilgun. The minimum mass is 106 tons.
