Contest 1999 Results
Statistics
This year we received 259 submissions from 904 students. There were
34 teachers and 35 schools that participated. Entries came from
Canada, India, Jordan, Macedonia, Pakistan, Peru, Spain and the
United States. Submissions came from 15 U.S. states: Alaska,
California, Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland,
Massachussetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New
York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Washington.
Winners
Grand Prize
The grand prize went to Aleksey Cherman, Akira Irie, David Pan and
Bing Zhao for CLC1. These students are 12th
graders at Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School in Rockville,
Maryland.
Note: for the rest of the prizes there were individual, team
(consisting of 2-6 students) and classroom project (from 20-35
students) awards for two groups: 6-9th grade and
10-12th grade. Team members are listed in alphabetical
order. There were a number of ties. The quantity and quality of
artwork submitted this year enabled us to offer a new division
based on artistic merit.
