Design Contest 2002 Results
Statistics
This year we received 114 submissions from 568 students and 20
teachers. Entries came from Japan, Canada and 13 states: Alaska,
California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri,
New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia.
Winners
Grand Prize
The grand prize went to four students from Columbia Missouri for
their submission Æther, A plan for
human colonization of space. All are students of Fred Thompson
at Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri.
Congratulations for an outstanding research project.
Note: for the rest of the prizes there were individual,
team/(consisting of 2-6 students) and large group (from 8-18
students) and Classroom awards for two groups: 6-9th
grade and 10-12th grade. Team names are listed by
submission.
