Design Contest 2001 Results
Statistics
This year we received 135 submissions from 581 students and 23
teachers. Entries came from Austria, Japan and the United States.
Submissions came from 14 U.S. states: California, Colorado,
Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New
Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
Winners
Grand Prize
Judging for the grand prize ended in a tie. The grand prize went to
Meg O. and Nikhil T. for their submission
Avalon, Mankind's Next Utopia and to Azhar S. A. for
The Centurion Space Settlement. Meg and Nikhil are 10th graders
from Berlin, New Jersey and Azhar studies at the Vienna
International School in Vienna, Austria. Congratulations to these
outstanding students.
Note: for the rest of the prizes there were individual,
team/small group (consisting of 2-6 students) and large group (from
7-35 students) awards for two groups: 6-9th grade and
10-12th grade. Team names are listed by submission.
