NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest 2011 Results


This year we received 358 submissions from 1,082 students sponsored by 114 teachers. Entries came from 19 countries: Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan, Romania, Singapore, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, and the United States. U.S. entries were received from 14 states: Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington.

Winners

Grand Prize

The Grand Prize for the 2011 Space Settlement Contest went to a large team of 7 students (11-12 grade), Gaurav, Deepak, Harman, Mahiya, Kaenat, Ishaan, and Navdeep from Punjab, India for creating the Hyperion Space Settlement. They also won the NSS Bruce M. Clark, Jr. Memorial Space Settlement Award.
